Day 1 of The November Write-Along
Today, we have chosen to write. 2 writing prompts, Murakami, baseball, & color
Hi writing friends,
Today, we have chosen to write. Today is the first day of a monthlong daily writing practice we’ve embarked on because it feels good to do this, show up, and dip our ladle in the river of the mind, even when what we lift up doesn’t always glimmer. Even when the writing waters are not warm. A good feeling can still come from a cold lake.
We write and we know we are following something deeper than doubt inside us. We write and we let something deeper than doubt—tentative belief—steer the ship. The voice inside us that says our words can matter. 500 words, five pages, three scenes, a stanza, a character sketch, a bit of dialogue—whatever it takes to get us to the page. And when we feel fidgety, we’ll find a way to pause, perhaps with deep breaths, a walk, or a bit of reading.
If you’d like to sign up, you are welcome to join us. The daily notes are across the paywall and you can join if you like (and zero pressure if you’d rather not) here:
